- 12 sticks of mozzarella cheese (about 3/4 inch thick and 3 inches long)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Cooking spray or olive oil, for greasing
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it with cooking spray or olive oil.
Cut the mozzarella cheese into sticks, about 3/4 inch thick and 3 inches long. Place them on a plate and freeze them for about 20-30 minutes. This will help them hold their shape during baking.
Prepare three shallow bowls for breading: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, garlic powder, and paprika.
Remove the mozzarella sticks from the freezer. Working quickly, coat each stick in flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere. Place the coated sticks on the prepared baking sheet.
Once all the mozzarella sticks are coated, lightly spray them with cooking spray or drizzle them with olive oil. This will help them brown nicely in the oven.
Bake the mozzarella sticks in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the coating is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is just starting to melt.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the mozzarella sticks cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serve the baked mozzarella sticks with your favorite marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or any dipping sauce of your choice.
Enjoy your delicious homemade baked mozzarella sticks as a tasty snack or appetizer!
