Boozy Apple Cider For Thanksgiving Recipe

    • 1 gallon (3.78 liters) of fresh apple cider
    • 1 cup (240 ml) of dark rum
    • 1 cup (240 ml) of bourbon
    • 1/2 cup (120 ml) of maple syrup
    • 2 cinnamon sticks
    • 6 whole cloves
    • 1 orange, sliced
    • 1 apple, sliced
    • 1 teaspoon of whole allspice berries
    • Whipped cream (optional, for serving)
    • Cinnamon sticks and apple slices (for garnish)

    Pour the Apple Cider:

In a large pot, pour the fresh apple cider and heat it over medium heat until it’s warm. Be careful not to boil it.

    Add Spices:

Tie the cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, and allspice berries in a cheesecloth or use a spice infuser. Place it in the pot with the apple cider.

    Infuse Flavors:

Add the orange slices and apple slices to the pot. Allow the cider to simmer for about 15-20 minutes on low heat, letting the flavors meld together.

    Sweeten it Up:

Stir in the maple syrup to add a touch of sweetness. Adjust the amount to your taste preference.

    Introduce the Spirits:

Pour in the dark rum and bourbon. Stir the mixture well and let it heat through for an additional 5-10 minutes. Make sure not to boil it, as the alcohol will evaporate.

Remove the spice bundle and discard it. Ladle the boozy apple cider into mugs or heatproof glasses.

Optionally, top each mug with a dollop of whipped cream and garnish with a cinnamon stick and apple slice.

Serve the Boozy Apple Cider warm, and savor the rich, spiced flavors with a kick of warmth from the dark rum and bourbon.

This Boozy Apple Cider is perfect for Thanksgiving gatherings, warming up your guests with its festive and aromatic essence. Adjust the alcohol content to your liking, and remember to enjoy responsibly!
