Creamy Cucumber Salad recipe

    • 3 large cucumbers, thinly sliced
    • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
    • 1/2 cup sour cream
    • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
    • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon sugar
    • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • Fresh dill for garnish (optional)

    Prepare the Cucumbers:

Wash the cucumbers thoroughly and peel if desired.

Slice them thinly using a sharp knife or a mandoline.

If the cucumbers have large seeds, you may choose to scoop them out with a spoon.

    Slice the Red Onion:

Peel and thinly slice the red onion.

If you find the flavor too strong, you can soak the sliced onions in cold water for about 10 minutes, then drain before adding to the salad.

    Make the Dressing:

In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, white vinegar, sugar, and Dijon mustard.

Whisk the ingredients together until the sugar is dissolved, and the dressing is smooth.

    Combine Ingredients:

In a large bowl, combine the sliced cucumbers and red onions.

Pour the creamy dressing over the vegetables.

    Toss and Season:

Gently toss the cucumbers and onions with the dressing until well coated.

Add salt and pepper to taste. Remember, cucumbers release moisture, so you may not need as much salt as you think.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours before serving.

This allows the flavors to meld and the salad to chill.

Just before serving, garnish the creamy cucumber salad with fresh dill for an extra burst of flavor and a touch of freshness.

Serve the creamy cucumber salad chilled as a refreshing side dish with grilled meats, sandwiches, or as a standalone salad.

    Enjoy your Creamy Cucumber Salad!

Adjust the ingredients according to your taste preferences, and feel free to experiment with additional herbs or spices for added flair.
