Healthy Homemade Granola Recipe

    Ingredients:

    • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
    • 1 cup nuts (almonds, walnuts, or a mix), chopped
    • 1/2 cup seeds (pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds)
    • 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
    • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
    • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup or honey
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup dried fruits (raisins, cranberries, apricots), chopped (optional)

    Instructions:

    Preheat and Prepare:

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Mix Dry Ingredients:

In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, chopped nuts, seeds, shredded coconut, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.

    Add Wet Ingredients:

In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted coconut oil, maple syrup (or honey), and vanilla extract.

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:

Pour the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients and stir until everything is well coated.

    Spread on Baking Sheet:

Spread the mixture evenly onto the prepared baking sheet, pressing it down slightly with a spatula.

    Bake:

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the granola is golden brown, stirring every 10 minutes for even cooking.

    Add Dried Fruits (Optional):

If you’re using dried fruits, add them to the granola during the last 10 minutes of baking.

    Cool Completely:

Remove the granola from the oven and let it cool completely on the baking sheet. It will crisp up as it cools.

    Break Into Clusters:

Once cooled, break the granola into clusters with your hands or a spoon.

    Store:

Store the granola in an airtight container at room temperature. It should stay fresh for a couple of weeks.

    Serve:

Enjoy your healthy homemade granola with yogurt, milk, or as a topping for smoothie bowls.

Feel free to customize this recipe by adding your favorite nuts, seeds, or dried fruits.

You can also adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of maple syrup or honey.

Enjoy your nutritious and delicious homemade granola!
