How to Make Ground Beef Stir-Fry Noodles


    • 8 oz (about 225g) Chinese egg noodles
    • 1 lb (about 450g) ground beef
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
    • 1 cup broccoli florets
    • 1 medium carrot, julienned
    • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
    • 1/4 cup soy sauce
    • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
    • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
    • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
    • Green onions, chopped, for garnish
    • Sesame seeds, for garnish


    Cook the noodles:

    Cook the Chinese egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

    Brown the ground beef:

    In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

    Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Once cooked, drain excess fat and set the beef aside.

    Sauté aromatics and vegetables:

    In the same skillet or wok, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil.

    Add minced garlic and grated ginger, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

    Add broccoli, carrot, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

    Combine with noodles:

    Add the cooked noodles to the skillet or wok, tossing to combine with the vegetables.

    Make the sauce:

    In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and red pepper flakes (if using).

    Combine everything:

    Pour the sauce over the noodles and vegetables. Add the cooked ground beef. Toss everything together until well coated and heated through.

    Garnish and serve:

    Garnish the stir-fry with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
