Pumpkin Crumb Muffins Frosting Recipe

    Ingredients:

    For the Muffins:

    • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
    • 1/3 cup milk
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    For the Crumb Topping:

    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

    For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

    4 ounces cream cheese, softened

    1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

    1 cup powdered sugar

    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Instructions:

    Preheat the Oven:

    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease the cups.

    Make the Muffins:

    In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Set aside.

    In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the pumpkin puree, milk, and vanilla extract.

    Make the Cream Cheese Frosting:

    In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue to beat until creamy and well combined.

    Frost the Muffins:

    Once the muffins are completely cooled, spread or pipe the cream cheese frosting over the tops.
