Quick And Easy Brown Butter Shrimp Pasta Recipe


    • 8 ounces (225g) of pasta (linguine, spaghetti, or any preferred pasta)
    • 1 pound (450g) of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
    • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
    • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
    • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
    • Salt and black pepper to taste
    • 1/4 cup (15g) freshly chopped parsley
    • Juice of 1/2 lemon
    • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)


    Cook the Pasta:

    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

    Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente.

    Drain the pasta, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water. Set aside.

    Prepare the Shrimp:

    Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and black pepper.

    In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.

    Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through.

    Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

    Brown the Butter:

    In the same skillet, add the remaining butter over medium heat.

    Allow the butter to melt and continue cooking until it starts to foam.

    Once the foam subsides, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet.

    Stir continuously, allowing the butter to turn golden brown and the garlic to become fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the butter.

    Combine the Ingredients:

    Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the brown butter sauce.

    Toss the pasta until it is well coated in the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water to loosen it up.

    Add the cooked shrimp back into the skillet and toss to combine.

    Squeeze the lemon juice over the pasta and shrimp, then sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley. Toss again to incorporate.


    Divide the brown butter shrimp pasta among serving plates.

    Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

    Serve hot and enjoy!
