Sizzling Tofu Fajitas Recipe


    • 1 block extra-firm tofu, pressed and cut into thin strips
    • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
    • 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
    • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
    • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
    • 3 tablespoons olive oil
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
    • 2 teaspoons chili powder
    • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
    • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 lime, juiced
    • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
    • 8 small flour tortillas

    Optional toppings:

    • Salsa
    • Guacamole
    • Sour cream
    • Shredded cheese
    • Sliced jalapeños


    Prepare Tofu:

    Press the tofu to remove excess water, then cut it into thin strips.

    Marinate Tofu:

    In a bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Add tofu strips to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Allow it to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate overnight for more flavor.

    Sauté Vegetables:

    Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of olive oil and sauté the sliced bell peppers and onions until they are tender and slightly charred.

    Cook Tofu:

    In the same skillet, add the marinated tofu strips. Cook until the tofu is golden brown and has a slightly crispy texture, about 5-7 minutes.

    Combine Ingredients:

    Once the tofu is cooked, add the sautéed vegetables back to the skillet. Toss everything together, ensuring the tofu and vegetables are evenly mixed.

    Add Lime Juice and Cilantro:

    Squeeze fresh lime juice over the mixture and sprinkle chopped cilantro on top. Toss once more to incorporate the flavors.

    Warm Tortillas:

    In a separate pan or directly on the stovetop, warm the flour tortillas until they are pliable.


    Spoon the sizzling tofu and vegetable mixture onto the warm tortillas. Serve with optional toppings such as salsa, guacamole, sour cream, shredded cheese, and sliced jalapeños.
