Slider-Style Shrimp Po’ Boys Recipe


    For the Shrimp:

    • 1 pound medium-sized shrimp, peeled and deveined
    • 1 cup buttermilk
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon paprika
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    • Salt and black pepper to taste
    • Vegetable oil for frying

    For the Remoulade Sauce:

    • 1 cup mayonnaise
    • 2 tablespoons Creole mustard
    • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
    • Salt and black pepper to taste

    For Assembly:

    • Slider buns
    • Shredded lettuce
    • Sliced tomatoes
    • Sliced pickles


    Marinate the Shrimp:

    In a bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp with buttermilk. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to an hour in the refrigerator.

    Prepare the Remoulade Sauce:

    In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Creole mustard, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

    Breading the Shrimp:

    In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Remove shrimp from the buttermilk and dredge each shrimp in the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.

    Frying the Shrimp:

    Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry the breaded shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

    Assemble the Sliders:

    Toast the slider buns lightly. Spread a generous amount of the prepared remoulade sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place a layer of shredded lettuce on top, followed by the crispy fried shrimp. Add sliced tomatoes and pickles on top, and cover with the other half of the bun.

    Serve and Enjoy:

    Arrange the Slider-Style Shrimp Po’ Boys on a platter and serve immediately. Optionally, you can serve with extra remoulade sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy the delicious flavors of these mini New Orleans-inspired sandwiches!
