Spicy Cucumber Tea Sandwiches Recipe

    Table of Contents

    • 1 large cucumber, thinly sliced
    • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
    • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
    • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
    • 1 tablespoon finely chopped green onions
    • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)
    • Salt and black pepper to taste
    • 8 slices of bread (white, wheat, or your choice)
    • Butter, softened (for spreading on bread)

In a small mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, chopped dill, chopped green onions, and hot sauce. Mix until well combined. Season with salt and black pepper according to your taste preferences.

Lay out the bread slices on a clean work surface. Spread a thin layer of softened butter on one side of each bread slice. This will help keep the sandwiches moist and add flavor.

Take one slice of bread and spread a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture on the unbuttered side.

Arrange the thinly sliced cucumber evenly over the cream cheese mixture, covering the entire slice of bread.

Sprinkle a little extra salt and black pepper over the cucumber slices if desired, for added flavor.

Place another slice of bread on top, buttered side facing up.

Using a sharp knife, carefully trim off the crusts from the sandwich. Then, cut the sandwich diagonally into two triangles or into smaller bite-sized pieces, depending on your preference.

Repeat the process with the remaining bread slices and cucumber slices until all the sandwiches are assembled.

Arrange the prepared sandwiches on a serving platter and garnish with additional fresh dill or green onions if desired.

Serve the spicy cucumber tea sandwiches immediately, or cover them with a damp paper towel and plastic wrap to keep them fresh until ready to serve.

These spicy cucumber tea sandwiches are perfect for any afternoon tea party or as a light and refreshing snack. Enjoy!
