Tandoori-Style Chicken Lollipop Recipe

    Ingredients:

    • 10 chicken drumettes, cleaned and patted dry
    • 1 cup thick yogurt
    • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
    • 1 tablespoon red chili powder
    • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
    • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
    • 1 tablespoon garam masala
    • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
    • 1 teaspoon Kashmiri red chili powder (for color, optional)
    • Salt to taste
    • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
    • Lemon wedges for serving

    For the marinade:

    In a large bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, ground coriander, ground cumin, garam masala, turmeric powder, Kashmiri red chili powder (if using), salt, and lemon juice.

    Mix well to form a smooth marinade.

    Add the cleaned chicken drumettes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated.

    Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

    For grilling:

    Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using an oven, preheat to 200°C (400°F).

    Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.

    Thread each chicken drumette onto a skewer, creating a lollipop shape.

    Brush the skewered chicken with vegetable oil to prevent sticking to the grill.

    Grill the chicken lollipops for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is fully cooked and has a nice char.

    Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.

    For oven baking:

    Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

    Place the skewered chicken lollipops on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

    Bake for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, until the chicken is fully cooked and has a beautiful color.

    Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.
