Is the stock market open on Memorial Day?


The Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange will be closed on Memorial Day, May 29.

One of 12 federal holidays, it commemorates military personnel who died in service.

The Nasdaq and NYSE will shut Friday at 4 p.m. Eastern and reopen Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.

Monday will see most commercial banks and other financial institutions closed or with reduced hours.

The U.S. bond market will shut early Friday at 2 p.m. and Monday.

Juneteenth is the next U.S. stock market holiday.

Before Independence Day, Black Friday, and Christmas Eve, markets shut early at 1 p.m.

Since Christmas Eve is a Sunday, markets won't shut early.
